Inspired by a post-holiday winter walk in the city, Reject is a retrieved xmas tree suspended and inverted in a storefront window. For 25 cents, the tree will tremble for 11 seconds.

Reject emphasizes the absurdity of the life cycle of an Xmas tree, generally manufactured, purchased, briefly used as decoration, and discarded. The work offers one final bit of consumer use which, for a small fee, can be extracted from the holiday product. By inserting a second monetary exchange for the purpose of brief entertainment, the tree's cycle is prolonged and space for contemplation is created. While the trembling tree often provokes laughter, the initial reaction gives way to empathy and sadness for the unfortunate life-form that shakes itself bare for it's spectators.

Le projet Rejet est inspiré d'une promenade d'après-noël dans la ville et met en lumière un sapin inversé et suspendu dans la vitrine de la galerie. Pour 25 cent, l'arbre tremblera pendant 11 secondes. Rejet souligne l'absurdité du cycle de vie d'un arbre de noël, généralement manufacturé, acheté, utilisé brièvement comme décoration et ensuite jeté. Contre un petit montant d'argent, l'œuvre prolonge ce cycle en offrant un bref moment de divertissement en même temps qu'un espace de contemplation. Bien que le sapin provoque souvent des sourires, cette réaction initiale donne place à un sentiment de compassion et de tristesse pour cet objet qui se met à nu devant les spectateurs.
