Hello,

This tarball or zipfile contains (hopefully) everything you need to make or modify your own Modified Montreal-Saskatoon Miller Solar Engine.

This is the alpha-0.1.1 release of this project and is not guaranteed to work at all, though I've used it lots and it works fine.

I should probably properly license it at some point, but in the meantime let's keep it open and available to everyone. Feel free to modify, re-use, re-distribute etc. Please keep all changes open and available in the spirit of this project. I'd really like to hear about it too.

DESCRIPTION/USAGE OF CONTENTS:

flemming_feetprint:
Put the contents of this in your /usr/share/kicad/modules (or equivalent). It contains the physical footprints of the components used in the MMMSE that aren't part of Kicad. Also, I think I changed most of the drill-bit and pad sizes to conform with the APC standard set.

flemming_parts:
Put the contents of this in your /usr/share/kicad/library (or equivalent). These are the schematic symbols used in the MMMSE that aren't part of Kicad. You don't probably don't need all of these. Some are from some of my other projects and may or may not be finished and/or correct. Could be useful maybe...

mmmse_alpha-0.1.1_kicad_files:
If you want to work on modifying (hopefully correcting and improving) the MMMSE in Kicad, here are the files to do so. Open the project file (mmmse_alpha-0.1.1.pro) in Kicad. 

MAX8212_datasheet.pdf:
Title says it all. Look here for math formulas, and info about the guts of the MAX8212 chip.

mmmse_alpha-0.1.1_pcb_manu_files.zip:
Contains the gerber files, silkscreens etc. for sending to a PCB manufacturer. This zip is all you need to send to APC circuits (apcircuits.com). I've never used anyone else, so I don't know what else another board house might need or not, if anything.

solarbotics_MAX8212_soleng_bep-pm3-v2.pdf:
Instruction manual that comes with the solarbotic.com kit based on the MAX8212. Has a circuit culled from the MAX8212 datasheet. This is the circuit I made modifications to. Contains good info about the chip.

tuning_tips.txt:
Gives somes suggestions on how to tune your MMMSE once you get it built.
